Primary care services

Kachemak Medical Group offers a variety of primary care services. Primary care is the day-to-day health care most patients need — from treatment of acute conditions like a skin rash, sinus infections or virus to the management of chronic conditions like acne, asthma, allergies, depression, high blood pressure and more.

Some of the primary care services we offer include:

  • Illness Treatment: Whether you have a cold, the flu, or some other common illness, Kachemak Medical Group provides treatment for common health issues.
  • Injury Treatment: From cuts to bruises or broken bones, we can treat you for any non-life-threatening injury. You can skip the wait you’d face at an emergency room and be treated quickly, and for a fraction of the price of being treated at the ER.
  • Adult Medicine: If you suffer from a chronic condition such as diabetes, hypertension, or arthritis, our skilled physicians offer treatment for a variety of diseases and conditions.
  • Pediatric Medicine: Is your son or daughter suffering from an ailment such as strep throat? We can diagnose and treat your child’s illness, and you won’t have to wait for an appointment.
  • Physical Exams: Whether you need a physical just a health checkup, or a specialty physical for DOT, or employment, we will provide an update on your health status. We also perform pediatric physicals, such as for your child’s school or sports involvement.

Back-to-School, Camp and Sports Physicals

Does your child’s school, camp, or sport require a physical exam prior to starting? The purpose of these exams is to ensure your child is healthy and/or physically fit to attend school or participate in camp or sports activities, and to ensure your child is in good physical shape and not at serious risk for injury.

Annual Wellness Physicals

If you are on Medicare, you can have yearly physicals, or “annual wellness visits” (AMV) to create or update an illness prevention plan. General physicals are different from annual wellness visits for Medicare patients, and AMV does not replace the value provided by a head-to-toe physical exam.

While a general physical exam involves tests to assess the health of a patient, these tests are not always covered by Medicare. Instead, annual wellness visits are covered under Medicare Part B benefits. Your physician will do a wellness check and develop a healthcare plan tailored to your unique needs.
